It’s been almost a year since Verdansk disappeared from the face of Call of Duty: Warzone. Now, after a full reveal at the Call of Duty: NEXT showcase, it’s been confirmed that the beloved map will be making a return to the Call of Duty: Warzone platform. However, it will return in the form of warzone mobilea brand new (sort of) battle royale adventure to portable devices anywhere, for free.
During a short trailer and a quick chat at NEXT CODit was revealed that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will take place in Verdansk. It will feature the entire end-to-end map, including all of the classic points of interest we remember so well from the original launch, from the beginning March 2020. But, as you can probably imagine, the whole map, mode, weapons, operators and everything else will be very low resolutionallowing full accessibility at all levels.
COD Warzone Mobile Brings Back Verdansk
As mobile games become more and more popular, it only makes sense that a Warzone Mobile Platform would be introduced. It’s surprising that it took almost three years for it to be released, however. Anyway, we can now confirm that COD Warzone Mobile is on the way, and it looks relatively decent, from what we’ve seen. Here’s the trailer, in case you’re interested in seeing a low resolution version of Verdansk play on your screen:
Now we don’t forget the fact that this is a mobile experience. Far from it, in fact, mobile gaming is on the rise, with one of the largest accessible audiences in the history of the industry. It is estimated that there are two billion mobile gamers in the world, and some of the best mobile esports games in the world attract huge audiences.
In recent years, we have seen many games go mobile, such as PUBG, Fortnite and Apex Legends. There is a mobile and mobile variant of most top-tier competitive titles, and in almost all cases these are “scaled down” versions of the full title they represent. With this in mind, no matter if warzone mobile doesn’t look amazing – it will still provide a great mobile experience on a card that most Call of Duty: Warzone players know and love.
What do we know about Warzone Mobile?
In the end, that’s just it – that’s all we know about warzone mobile. If you’ve played Call of Duty: Warzone before, you’ll fully understand and appreciate all of Warzone Mobile’s features from the get-go. It is identical to the full game which launched in March 2020, from loadouts and the economy system to hot drops and contracts. There’s absolutely nothing “new” about Warzone Mobile, other than the fact that it’s played on a device that fits in your pocket.
If we’re honest, we may see an esports vertical opening on Warzone Mobile. There is a valid and valuable PUBG Mobile esports community, and it only makes sense for Warzone Mobile to follow suit. For example, during the next Warzone World Series, which is slated to take place in 2023, we wouldn’t be surprised if there was a mobile category covered in some way. After all, some of the best COD Mobile players in the world will be eager to sink their competitive teeth into Warzone Mobile.
While some people might have thought that Call of Duty is dying recently, all this news about new games might just get them thinking the other side.
