Right Size Rug For Queen Bed
If your bedroom is larger, consider placing rugs measuring eight feet by 10 feet or nine feet by 12 feet under your bed. The last option is placing the area rug on the side of the bed.

Right size rug for queen bed. However, much of the rug’s design will be covered by the bed, so keep that in mind as you choose. If knowing which size rug under your bed is right for your room eludes you… fret no more. 9′ x 12′ is too large.
It looks great, but also feels great to be able to get. The 8′ by 10′ option or even going all the way up to 9′ by 12′ gives the rug more breathing room. This means a smaller rug, like the 5′ by 8′ option is almost visually lost.
7×10 rug under queen bed: Various options work such as a rug runner. The 8’x10′ rug would give additional coverage underneath the nightstands and leave 3 feet of the rug on either side of the bed, and about 3 feet at the foot of the bed to add a bench seat.
A 6′ x 9′ or 8′ x 10′ area rug works under a queen bed up against the wall. An area rug with a width of 5′ is best if your bed is again the wall so it doesn’t extend to far past the queen bed. Double up this distance and add it to both length and width of the table to get an approximate size for the rug you’ll need.

The same rug placement rules apply for queen beds. Very similar in size, both of these rugs can pair well with a queen sized bed. If the bed is 60 inches (5 feet) wide, the rug should extend at least 2 feet on each side and should be placed horizontally, so the total length of the rug should be at least 9 feet.
You can see that a 6×9 area rug under a queen bed should work depending on the width of your nightstands but again, bigger is usually better so an 8×10 or larger is ideal for under a queen bed. As you can see, it’s big enough to fit the entire bed and bench with space to spare. Use these rough guidelines to choose an area rug that will look good in a big bedroom.

On the larger side of the spectrum, queen beds measure in at 60 inches wide and 80 inches long. Because of this, the size of this rug depends on the size of your bed, the furniture around it, and how far under the bed you want to position it. An 8×10 rug will allow approximately two feet of rug to show on either side of your queen bed.
Take into consideration the measurements of larger beds. Your bed size will determine your bedroom rug size. 8×10 area rugs are often quite affordable and easily accessible because they’re a common size.
When a rug is placed under a bed, the rug should stick out at least 12 inches on all sides. There are a few options when it comes to placing the rug under a bed. Here are some of my guidelines for determining the right size rug for the bedroom, as well as placement.
Typically for a queen size bed, an 8×10 rug is sufficient. Both of these configurations allow you. Using a standard size rug, it would extend on either side 2 1/2 feet and 18.
For a full or queen size bed, you can use a 5×8, 6×9, or 8×10 rug beneath the bed placed longways (depending on how much floor space you want covered). A rug measuring seven feet by 10 feet is likely the largest rug you'll use under a queen bed in an average size bedroom. Just place the top 18” to 24” (or more depending on the size of your room) of the rug underneath the footboard while the rest can be embellished with floor cushions and ottomans.
