Although Sumeru’s huge 3.0 update to Genshin Impact still feels pretty new thanks to the addition of an entire region loaded with fresh content, miHoYo is already advancing towards another massive update. The version 3.1 update is called “King Deshret and the Three Magi” and promises a plethora of anticipated additions.

On September 16, miHoYo shared a livestream and trailer revealing everything to come in the Genshin Impact Updated from version 3.1. It’s hard for any update to keep up with the massive Sumeru update, but 3.1 looks very promising with the addition of deserts, three new characters, Fatui Harbinger’s lore, powerful new weapons, new enemies fearsome and many special events.
Sumeru Desert map expansion in Genshin Impact 3.1
Players will be able to venture into the desert regions of Sumeru when the version 3.1 update goes live. The miHoYo team has focused on opposites when designing all aspects of Sumeru, and that remains true with Sumeru’s lush, green and bustling jungles and forests now contrasting with its harsh, dry and harsh deserts. sparse.
Also continuing the theme of opposites, the desert regions of Sumeru are ancient, but still feature immensely complicated technology. In the ruins around the desert, players will find intricate puzzles and extremely advanced enemies.
In addition to the mysterious ruins, the next desert region is also home to a desert-themed town called Aaru Village. It is widely spread in a rocky canyon and is home to quite a large number of Sumeru residents.
Nilou, Cyno and Candace banners in Genshin Impact 3.1
Hydro Sword’s five-star character Nilou, who players are already somewhat familiar with, will be dancing in 3.1 as a featured banner character. Nilou is known for her impressive dancing skills and her ability to completely captivate any audience.
The Hydro Dancer stands out strikingly in the knowledge and learning centered region of Sumeru. Nilou is ultimately a performer who loves nothing more than to pursue her passion and heal others through her performances.
All of her moves and attacks in combat are inspired by her dancing prowess. Nilou is able to move with elegance and efficiency while easily eliminating his opponents.
Electro Polearm’s Five-Star Character Cyno Has Been Teased Ever Since Genshin Impact launch and finally making its way into the game in version 3.1. Cyno is General Mahamatra and is therefore in charge of overseeing Sumeru Akademiya’s seekers.
He is known to be a very efficient and focused man who often comes off as solemn or overly serious, but he is also known to try to crack jokes from time to time. However, they tend to fail due to their unexpectedness, and Cyno will then usually try to explain them while maintaining his rigid attitude.
Unlike the rest of the Sumeru Akademiya who love knowledge and believe in focusing heavily on it, Cyno stays away from the pursuit of knowledge. It’s because he saw too many people going down a dark path or suffering too much to pursue knowledge.
Controversial Hydro Polearm character Candace will debut as a four-star character with an increased drop rate in the first half of 3.1. She is the guardian of Aaru Village and a half-blood descendant of the Scarlet King. His only goal in life is to keep his house safe.
Candace also has the unique ability to create a special shield that can absorb damage and then reflect it back to enemies after a certain amount of time. A special ability can also eventually be unlocked that will allow him to charge his shield instantly.
Calendar banners in Genshin Impact 3.1
The first half of 3.1 will feature a featured banner for brand new character Cyno and another for a replay of five-star character Anemo Bow Venti. Candace will be featured on both banners as a featured four-star character with an increased drop rate.
The second half of 3.1 will feature the first run of the Hydro character Nilou as a featured five-star character with an increased drop rate alongside another banner for the Geo Sword five-star character Albedo rerun.
The return of Scaramouche and the arrival of Il Dottore in Genshin Impact 3.1
The version 3.1 trailer teased the long-awaited return of Scaramouche and the official introduction of Il Dottore. Both characters are members of the Fatui Harbingers, who are among the worst of the worst when it comes to Genshin Impact bad guys.
MiHoYo generously hinted at the arrival of more Fatui Harbingers with a huge trailer unveiling the 11 Fatui Harbingers serving under Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon, in July. Now players will finally get an update on Scaramouche to find out what the trickster has been up to and if he really left the Fatui Harbingers, or maybe he did something more sinister.
The generic character was last seen when he took Gnosis from the Electro Archon, which he was supposed to take back to the Fatui Harbingers. Instead, Scaramouche disappeared, leading fans to wonder if he could have chosen to go rogue. He can be seen in the 3.1 trailer located in some kind of new mechanical body.
It looks like players will also have their first face-to-face experience with Il Dottore, also known as The Doctor. Il Dottore is known for his ruthless behavior and is almost constantly absorbed in his experiments.
The 3.1 trailer features Il Dottore remarking that he has achieved a successful experiment and people can’t “hold back their pure adoration any longer” as masses seem to flock around him in excitement.
While Scaramouche is expected to become a playable character in Genshin Impact at some point this will not happen in 3.1. It’s also highly unlikely that Il Dottore will ever become a playable character.
New weapons in Genshin Impact 3.1
Players may wish for two new five-star weapons that will be added to the weapon banner in 3.1. One is a sword called Key of Khaj-Nisut and the other is a polearm called Staff of the Scarlet Sands.
Additionally, four different four-star weapons will also be introduced in this update. There will be a sword called Xiphos’ Moonlight, a claymore called Makhaira Aquamarine, a catalyst called Wandering Evenstar, and a polearm called Missive Windspear.
New enemies in Genshin Impact 3.1
Players will experience a few additional new Sumeru enemies with the version 3.1 update. There will be two new enemies to face, both bosses.
The first is called the proctor network semi-intransitory matrix algorithm. It is an ancient device that can be found in the Sumeru Desert.
The second enemy is Aeonblight Drake, who appears to be a more complex and dangerous version of the existing Drake enemy found in the wild throughout Sumeru. Just like the regular Drake, the Aeonblight Drake also has a dragon form and spews deadly flames.
All events from Genshin Impact 3.1
As is usually the case when miHoYo drops the trailer and livestream for a new version update, the names and details surrounding the events that will occur during version 3.1 have been revealed.
- There will be a Mondstadt “Of Ballads and Brews” event where the Adventurer’s Guild will ask players to participate in various tasks before the Weinlesefest event. - An event called “Hyakunin Ikki” will require players to participate in a battle tournament near Inazuma City.
